Camping on Blake Island State Park

Blake Island is located 8 miles from Seattle's Central Waterfront and accessible only by private or charter boat. It's such a unique gem - there are no other undeveloped islands accessible to the camping & boating public in Puget Sound. Visitors can explore Blake Island along miles of hiking and biking trails, including the popular 4.5-mile perimeter trail.

Argosy Boats run daily May-September. Cost for Transportation Only is $40 per person, round trip. (Please note: If you have camping equipment we require that you join us on the non-published 9:00am departure.) Please call Argosy to confirm your space. Campsite Information

Camping on Blake IslandThe camp has 44 tent spaces, two primitive sites, one dump station, four restrooms (one ADA) and one shower area. Three Cascadia Marine Trail sites are located on the west end of the island. These sites are for use by canoers and kayakers only. The primitive sites are available on the south side. Group Accommodations

Group camping is available by reservation for groups of less than 250 people. Fees vary with size of the group and can be made ONLY BY CALLING the State Parks: Call (888) CAMPOUT or (888) 226-7688 for reservations.

Dec. 1, 2010 – May 12, 2011
  • Primitive campsite and water trail camping: $12
  • Standard campsite: $19
  • Partial-utility campsite: $25
  • Full-utility campsite: $26
May 13, 2011-Sept. 15, 2011 (peak season)
  • Primitive campsite and water trail camping: $12
  • Standard campsite: $22
  • Partial-utility campsite: $29
  • Full-utility campsite: $31
Sept. 16, 2011 – May 2012 (off-peak season)
  • Primitive campsite and water trail camping: $12
  • Standard campsite: $21
  • Partial-utility campsite: $27
  • Full-utility campsite: $28

An additional $3 fee (standard) or $5 fee (utility) may be charged for select premium campsites at some parks.

Maximum eight people per campsite.

Dump stations (if available): Year-round dump station fees are $5 per use. If you are camping, this fee is included in your campsite fee.

The island is densely wooded and with many forested walking and hiking trails and 5 miles of beaches. For a trail map click here. Vegetation on the island includes native Northwest trees and shrubs. Wildlife on the island includes deer, chipmunks, otter, squirrels, mink and many types of birds.

What restrictions do you have when camping on Blake Island and taking the Argosy boat over?

For individual campers, we kindly ask that you bring only camping gear that fits in a backpack or in your hands as there is limited space available on the boat. Please be considerate to those guests around you and place your camping gear out of the walkways. Explosives, weapons, firearms and propane tanks are not permitted.
